The ADAPTABLE Trial and PCORnet: Shining Light on a New Research Paradigm

Every day, patients and health care providers must make choices about medical care in circumstances where the best treatment is unknown and the balance of benefits and risks is unclear. Amid this uncertainty, the need for a pragmatic, efficient, nationwide solution that yields accurate scientific evidence to support informed decision making is obvious. However, our existing national research infrastructure is expensive, inefficient, and often slow to provide results.
